The hunting habits of domesticated cats impacting wildlife is often cited as the main reason for the subject being raised. Some people have taken to using harnesses to prevent that from being a possibility for their cat. <br><br>A recent statement by Cats Protection voiced concern regarding the rise in popularity of this approach, and as a feline behaviourist, I can absolutely understand the point being made about a cats natural instincts being compromised by a harness.
