The number of feline breeders in the UK is rising, intentionally as well as unintentionally. This is having a massive impact on the rescues all over the country; who are doing their best to help as many cats as is humanly possible. Below are some of the gorgeous cats throughout the UK needing homes, to show the diversity of felines that are currently in rescue needing new homes\u2026<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll start with Sparkle, who is currently with Canterbury and District Cats Protection and arrived in their care just before Christmas. Sparkle was a rather nervous girl on arrival at her foster home, but is now a fully fledged lap cat. You can read more about Sparkle here:<\/p>\n

Also with Canterbury CP, is Spot. Spot is a Siamese Cross and isn\u2019t very old at all really at sixteen months. He came to live with his fosterer after a change in his owners circumstances. If you want any more information on Spot, this is the link to follow:<\/p>\n

Next up, are two stunners from a Birmingham based rescue called TeamCat Rescue. Firstly, we\u2019ll meet Zelda. Zelda was born in a draughty shed, and had no contact to humans prior to being found at six months. \u00a0Another TeamCat beauty is Miss Haversham. She was abandoned by her previous humans when they moved. Miss Haversham was understandably a little unsure of people when she was rescued by the TeamCat volunteers but they\u2019ve worked hard and she\u2019s now a lot more trusting. Miss Haversham is still relatively young at three, and is ready for her new home in 2014. \u00a0Moving on to the Yorkshire contingent of the blog… a rather handsome young man named Vinny is the first Wizz Cat to be introduced. Vinny came to Wizz Catz Rescue via the local RSPCA and had been involved in a road traffic accident. He suffered serious injuries that required a lot of care and financial support from Wizz, but he\u2019s now a happy little man.\u00a0 Vinny would be better in a home on his own, or with Yazmin; another Wizz rescue cat looking for a home. \u00a0If you\u2019d like to offer this great little guy a home, you can contact Wizz via her site:<\/p>\n

The second Wizz Cat representative is actually a bonded pair of males. Blaize and Blake are seven month old males who were found in a sealed box; if they\u2019d not been discovered when they were they would have suffocated. Despite this terrible start to life, the boys are full of mischief and extremely friendly. Still in the Yorkshire area, Yorkshire Cat Rescue is the next port of call. Firstly, we meet Princess. She\u2019s rather a spirited young lady who knows what she wants out of life. Princess arrived from Yorkshire Cat Rescue as a pregnant stray. Her young have all found new homes, and she\u2019s still waiting for that perfect family. \u00a0The second cat being blogged about\u00a0 from this rescue is a rather\u00a0 striking female called Lilo. She was again left to fend for herself, but thankfully she found a kind old man who was caring for in his garden after he was told by his landlord he wasn\u2019t allowed to house her. \u00a0For the final two reasons to adopt rather than purchase a cat, we\u2019re heading to Northampton.\u00a0 Rushden Persian Rescue specialises in pedigree rescue, and is always full to capacity. Without further ado, these two stunning cats are the chosen felines to feature in this blog from the cats in their care.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Firstly, meet Poppy. She\u2019s a three year old Persian who rather likes her own space and is not one to share with other cats. \u00a0Rounding up the bevy of adorable felines is Flower. Flower was handed over to the Rescue by her previous owner as he couldn\u2019t take her with him when he moved. She\u2019s a little shy to begin with, but happy to receive fuss when she\u2019s used to you. Flower has never been allowed outside, and likes to be the only cat in the home. Because even when two cats are bonded they\u2019re still somewhat unique…) stunning, beautiful, exceptional reasons to adopt a cat rather than buying from a breeder. It\u2019s the beginning of a new year; what better way to start it than giving a cat the chance to settle in with a family that is going to love them for the rest of their lives?<\/p>\n
