One Way, Or Another….

Depending on where you live in the world, it’s possible your feline family member has indoor/outdoor access. If you’re in the UK, we’ve reached the season it’s likely wildlife are producing their young. Obviously, the younger rodents and birds are often easier prey for cats.
I’ve covered in previous blogs ways to care for your cat that are likely to significantly reduce their interest in hunting, but if your cat isn’t easily deterred it seems a cat flap has been created that might prove useful to you.

There seems to be a few different companies manufacturing rodent detection cat flaps, and as I’ve not trialled any of them, I won’t be endorsing one particular brand in this blog. But if your cat has a strong prey drive, it’s definitely worth checking them out.

While looking into this product, I learned about Huan, who is pictured in this blog. Unfortunately, not every cat decides to become a reformed hunter like her….
