Can’t Buy Me Love…

Another interesting post that came up on my feed was a landmark case about a man in Turkey being court ordered to pay maintenance to his ex wife towards the costs of care for their two cats. You can read more on the situation here:

While I’m glad there are some countries that are recognising the practical side of cat care, I’m interested to know if there are any in depth studies on the psychological aspect of how a feline family member is affected by a relationship break up. Ultimately, I think it’s likely to be a little documented aspect of feline psychology, as it’s only in recent years animal behaviourists have really started focusing on the depth of connections that exist in this particular family dynamic.
