Just a feeling…

In previous blogs, I’ve touched upon the emotional capacity felines exhibit and literature that investigates easily identifiable emotions to the author that they report present in cats.

Recently, a few articles regarding a study by Oregon State University to investigate the emotional connection a cat can develop with their human carers has been shared on various internet sites.

The study lead author, Kristin Vitale states that the findings prove cats are capable of forming emotional attachments to their caregivers the same way a child or dog does.

Below is a link to the university site, and the information compiled.

While some of the articles I’ve seen feel there were factors that needed to be included for the findings to be more conclusive, I myself absolutely believe cats build up bonds; and in some instances negative and positive associations, with specific people.
